Hello and welcome!

My name is Anna and this is my website. I am married to Danny (the web stig) and we have a four year old daughter.

I wanted to do this website after my husband asked me to help him with an article all about car care, and I realized there was a big gap in the market.

If you are not a car nut, you can so easily get caught up in the jungle that is car care products.

I am a housewife and mother and I don’t even have a drivers license, so any testing of products or reviews will be based on my oppinion and how easy/ hard I find things are to use.

I will hopefully get alot of help from both my husband and my father who is also a valeter!

I think this would be pretty tricky, it depends on how you work. We have about 6 different ones depending on the level of service. I guess you will have to make your own according to how you do things.

Just taking on a second trainee valeter, have been looking for a single page checklist or form that would maybe have tick boxes for area’s of the car that have been cleaned. Also the list would act as a reminder to do do the detailing that is sometimes missed i.e inside fuel flap, interior vanity mirrors ashtry etc. Can anyone help?

Yes, but sometimes it can be difficult, time consuming and expensive, it depends on the paint and how hard it is. Most often, running a buffer over the car will just put more swirls in - to avoid this you need to go to the enth degree. Usually a better solution is to use a wax which hides swirls.

Is there any way to remove swirl marks from a black car? I’ve had several black cars and faithfully handed them over to valeters who promised the goods, but with no joy…

You shouldn’t apply a supagard sealant, it is for professional use only.
My friends at Supagard wouldn’t be happy if I gave you any other answer!

In most cases, you can’t. It’s often the chrome that has been corroded. The only solution would be to re-chrome them, unfortunately, unless they are steel wheels from a vintage car, there is nobody doing chrome-over-alloy in the UK. It’s just too much of a difficult and expensive process… it would be cheaper to buy new wheels. So your only real alternative it to have the chrome stripped off and have them refinished with paint.
