How do I get back the new-car-smell?
July 19th, 2006 by Danny the web stig
That new car smell is caused by the solvents evaporating from new plastics. I have actually been told by a few people that this smell is actually bad for you because of course you are breathing in the solvents!
Filling your car with solvents is obviously out of the questions, so a replacement fragrance is needed.
Several manufacturers have produced a New Car Fragrance, but none I have tried to date have been very convincing. An alternative is the the smell of leather which is very leather like. An effective way of putting fragrance into your car so that it lasts is to suspend the fragrance into an essential oil and put the oil on dense felt or carboard blocks which are then fixed to hidden areas of the interior such as under the seats. This method can make the fragrance smell for up to a year!
For us men, it may be worth considering that women have a much more sensitive sense of smell than us, and they have very different ideas about what smells good and what doesn’t. I’m sure Anna will have some more to say on this subject in the near future.
So watch this space!

I was in an MGB Roadster the other day, makes me wish I could buy ‘Old car smell’. It brings back memories of my little yellow GT.
Great. I wondered how to get back that new car scent for my car and the spray scents aren’t long lasting and just aren’t the same.

Dear Sir or Madam
I’m writting this letter because I’m interested in your car care products.
especailly, New Car Scent, Leather Car Scent.
I would like to import them for sale in South Korea.
However, there are not enough imformation on your website, so I have some
questions about them.
1. How long does the effect last on average?
2. How many cars is it possible to use with 1 bottle(32 Ounces) on the basis
of BMW 5 series?
3. Is it harmful to man? or any caution?
4. Do you have a type of sprayer?
I think that the price can be flexible by how many products I order.
Could you tell me if you can offer any discount?
Lastly, I would like to get your products(Item # : E-859,E-856) as a sample.
please, let me know how to pay for them in detail.
I’m looking forward to receiving your reply.
Your sincerely

i like badgers, does any one do a badger scented airfreshner type thing? it would be even better if they produced it in a triangle shape hanger as that is may favourite shape… preferably yellow in colour? any one? many thanks, norm. PS my favourite colour is green
I like badgers too. The problem is that badgers don’t smell very good… if you have ever smelt a badger hair shaving brush, you need to use if a few times to get rid of the pong.
However, the smell of triangles is nice, as is the smell of green. Maybe you could combine these two fragrances into a badger shaped air freshner as a compromise? I think we could do that.
P.S. is that a European or and African Badger?
